Proud Australian National Awards Finalist (AIPP)

Last week was to us photographers, the time of year where everyone is excited and nervous. It was our version of the “Logies” which is a trade show and a competition where the best of the best Australian photographers come together and submit four of their finest, proudest images to be judged.

I am very pleased to announce I received a Gold award and a couple of Silver Distinctions which positioned me as a runner up as Photographer of the Year in Travel. Having won that title earlier in the year for Victoria, to be recognised national was very humbling.

Here are the images that were submitted for the awards. Enjoy!

Focusing The Eye.

Just like any discipline, if you don’t regularly exercise and strengthen your craft, things get a little… stale.
I’ve been enjoying wandering the streets of Melbourne this last week to explore the city and the it’s compositions a little more closely. Armed with a small camera and fixed lens, I’ve been restricted by technology which I’m loving!
The camera I’ve used for these shots is my awesome little Lumix GX1 with a 14mm lens… Enjoy

Victorian Photographic Awards Won!

You know, I never tire of photography…
Its the thrill of the chase, the delicate scenes that appear before you and can disappear in a fleeting blink of the eye. That same moment can just as easily wait patiently for you to get that camera exposure “just right”.

Recently I had an amazing adventure traveling through the USA to capture some of the most amazing scenes I won’t forget in a long time.
Better still I was honoured to win the Epson Victorian Travel Photographer of the Year with a selection of these images of which I’m very proud and grateful of.
To be part of an amazing industry and to be recognised for it by your peers is something that I’m quite humbled by.
Enjoy!
